I, Bride, take thee, Groom, to be my lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, cherish, and to obey, till death do us part…

Wedding vows are some of the most important words you will ever utter.  Put some careful thought into exactly how you’d like to express your love and devotion, and if the traditional vows just don’t’ feel right and just aren’t your thing, change it up!  Sure, the traditional wedding vow has depth, but only if it is coming from your heart.  How about writing a personal vow for your spouse?  Vows do not necessarily need to be paragraphs long.  Just Short.  Sweet.  And Heartfelt.

If you want to be very unique and think out of the box, here are some creative ideas for vows to consider:

1.)    If you are musically talented, write a love song to your spouse. Music is a great way to express your love.

2.)     If you enjoy writing, write your spouse a love poem.

3.)    If you would like to use the traditional wedding vow, but want to do something different as well try singing the vows.

4.)    Another way to be creative with the traditional wedding vow would be to recite the vows while using sign language.

Some of these ideas may be a bit out of your comfort zone, but give it a try!  Be creative with your words, voice, and any other creative ideas that may cross your mind.  It is your wedding day.  Be sure to inject your personality into the occasion.
